A BLESSING… IN DISGUISE

After receiving my Master Initiation in 2017, I was fully motivated to open my own space for my regular Reiki practice.  It started soon after in a very small room in an office building, but with no windows and barely enough space to hold a Reiki table and two chairs. Despite the size of the room, the Energy was profound. My practice grew slowly, and soon enough there were new faces coming in to experience the Healing Energy. It was a joyous time. 

The year 2020 came with an unfortunate and a terrifying experience for the whole World. The pandemic hit us fiercely. The lockdown that followed turned life upside down for all. Not to elaborate more on what happened in the hospitals with this unstoppable virus, we knew that the risk of being Covid infected lessened with the lockdown. There were no more Reiki clients calling or scheduling sessions, understandably. 

Life continued still in fear even after the lift of the lockdown. My Reiki practice started again, with very few and far between. But practicing Reiki in that small room now became ‘unsafe.’ And since there was no other space available in that building, that was suitable to give a session in, I had to reconcile withdrawing from my Reiki practice. This was decided in July 2020.

A little background about me, I am an experienced certified yoga teacher and have taught Yoga at a studio for more than 20 years. Unfortunately, like a lot of other yoga studios, the one in which I taught, also had to put a stop to the classes, due to Covid. In August 2020, all the teachers gathered in our studio to clear it out and say goodbye. The owner of the Yoga center had decided to close the place permanently. There was a sadness in that announcement, but she still had the lease for another 4 months.

With a heavy heart, we all departed. On my way back, I realized that life was coming to a standstill without Yoga classes to teach and my Reiki Practice in public. There was a dullness in my heart. It was at that moment that a thought flew into my mind, and I firmly believe that it was sent from the Universe. Upon an impulse, I called the owner of the Yoga center to propose my offer – starting a partnership with the owner and opening my Reiki center in the big Yoga space there. She was overjoyed & reacted with a “Can we meet tomorrow to discuss it?” I knew then that the standstill was over already.

We met. We talked. We signed the lease in 10 days. It was a Universal intervention. Beyond our planning or doing.

I have been in that space for a year and a half (since August 2020) and have taught Reiki classes and done Reiki sessions to many now. The move took place due to the Covid, but it came as a blessing for my Reiki practice as it pushed me to expand. I continue in the same space teaching and practicing Reiki. For me, a blessing came in disguise.
